2018 WCA Convention

The 2018 WCA Convention was a great success!

Here are some highlights and photos from the convention:

Dan Cozza won founders trophy for his display "The American Rifleman Weatherby"

Scottie Hojer won the outstanding individual item for "Carl E. Courts Crown Custom"

Scottier Hojer won the people's choice award for his display "Weatherby Critters"

Colton Cozza also displayed for the first time with "Blue Prints: Fred Jennie Weatherby Engineer" and was also a very popular display

Guest speaker Jim Supica (Director of NRA museums) talked about fine firearms engraving (one of our better speakers and very interesting and nice man)

Toured Headquarters of Bass Pro and largest Bass Pro. Wildlife Museum, Bucks and Bulls display.Ernest Hemingway's Cafe inside Bass Pro (picture of fireplace and picture of aquarium built into wooden bar).

NRA Firearms Museum inside Bass Pro Shop.Personal tour from Jim Supica (Museum Director of the NRA and guest speaker Saturday evening). Teddy Roosevelt display. 16 shot German Multi-Shot Wheellock "automatic rifle" built 2 centuries (1580) before the 2nd amendment was written (proving that there were automatic and semi-automatic weapons in existence when our founding fathers wrote the Bill of Rights)

Mule Deer Country Museum at Kansas City Cabela's. World's largest collection of Boone and Crockett Mule deer (nearly 100 of them scoring in the 200's to 300's B&C)

Members waiting for their 1 to 2 pound steaks to arrive at a local restaurant in Springfield (you couldn't order anything smaller).

Shooting sporting clays in the Ozarks on a nice Missouri "winter day" (55 degrees)
